The Amityville Horror

Hello!
Since I believe this film is brilliant, I thought that I should convey why I feel this way and what the film includes in hope that one day you will watch it also! Additionally, I believe prefer this adaptation of the film in comparison to the 1979 simply because the effects they use are more believable and that this version goes more into the background of the characters.

Brief description of the narrative:
George & Kathy Lutz and Kathy's 3 children move into a stylish Long Island home. What they don't know is that six gruesome murders were committed there the year before in which   Ronald DeFeo Jr (the oldest son in the family that has been killed) murdered his parents, his two brothers and two sisters by shooting them in November of 1974. No sooner are the Lutz’s moved into the house they begin seeing terrible things consisting of the ghost of Jodie DeFeo, horribly disfigured bodies and hearing ghostly voices throughout the house. George seems to notice it the most, and it isn't long before he becomes a danger to those around him. When the local priest, called in to bless the house, comes charging out in horror after being swarmed by flies, he issues a dire warning to Kathy - 'Leave that house'. Furthermore  George then becomes possessed by the evil spirits and tries to attack his own family. The reasons why I love this film is because it is captivating; it leaves the audience wanting more through the narrative and the interesting twists. The music is dramatic throughout and we feel sympathetic to the characters involved within the plot line.

Here is a clip from the film from which the first time I saw it made me jump with fear:
